Community members from across the Valley will gather at 7 a.m. on Saturday, October 6th to begin an Unmark the Parks clean-up effort. The effort is being organized by Maricopa County’s Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with Christ’s Church of the Valley. Currently, over 1,000 volunteers have registered for the four-hour clean-up effort which will take place in the following County parks: Adobe Dam, Cave Creek, Estrella Mountain, Lake Pleasant, including the Agua Fria conservation area, and White Tank Mountain Regional Park. Additional volunteers of all ages are being sought to help with the effort. The Unmark the Parks clean-up effort will focus on removing debris such as paper products, bottles, cans and tires from the parks. Pulte Homes will provide trash bags; however, volunteers should plan on bringing gloves and trash-pickers. Volunteers will receive a complimentary day use park entry pass on the day of the event and are encouraged to bring their lunch and enjoy a picnic in the park after the clean-up. This effort is a great way for organizations, supervised youth clubs, families and individuals to give back to the community. For additional information, contact Chad at (623) 376-2444 or
